Alright, time once again for the efficiency awards! For any new GMs, the original post in this thread has some explanation of who the awards are named after and how they're calculated. Winner of the Samuel Henley Award for efficiency: Florida PanthersWinner of the Gord Strate Award for futility: Detroit Red WingsFlorida and San Jose were VERY close, while Detroit was miles behind the rest... *The winner of the Peter Douris award for averageness: Carolina

I think I've got something: the Peter Douris award for Averageness.
There are many complicated ways I might have looked to find an "average" player, but I needed to come up with something that I could easily determine, so I decided to look at just goals per game. Averaged throughout NHL history, the average goals per game scored by each player is 0.16825. Douris, in the 80s and 90s, scored 54 goals in 321 games, for an average of 0.16822. Of all the players in the NHL database, he is the closest to scoring the "average" amount of goals per game in history.

Man, Florida has been really efficient for the last 3 years. They just need a bit more GP or some luck.
