Hi everyone and welcome to TSN's coverage of the 2017-18 ADHL awards, and I will be your host over these next few weeks. We had a great season here and would like to first congratulate the Washington Capitals on their first championship in franchise history. All teams battled hard and it was a fun post season to watch and be apart of. In the coming days we will kick off various awards to be voted on by all ADHL GM's.
To kick things off we have a few awards that have already been determined which I will announce shortly.

The first hardware to be given out is the Art Ross Trophy which is awarded to the ADHL player who leads the league in points at the end of the regular season. This year's winner is Connor McDavid from the Edmonton Oilers. Bob's thoughts: "Connor is a special young player who absolutely dominated the league offensively. I've had the luxury of watching Connor since he was a young boy playing for the Toronto Marlies and even then I knew he'd turn into something. Back to back Art Ross seasons puts him in the same conversation as Jaromir Jagr, Mario Lemieux, and Wayne Gretzky. He will be a force in this league for years to come and a future hall of famer. Congrats Connor on another spectacular season."

The next award is the William M Jennings Trophy which is given to the ADHL goalie who accrued the highest Fantrax score. This year's winner is Connor Hellebuyck from the Anaheim Ducks. Bob's thoughts: "Connor has silenced all of the doubters with his remarkable season. With a rotating cast of back ups due to injuries, he was relied on heavily in Winnipeg and he delivered with a Vezina-worthy performance. Connor has finally established himself as one of the top goaltenders in the league, and will be for many years to come."

Next up we have the Ted Lindsay Award which is handed out to the skater who had the highest Fantrax score in the regular season. This year's recipient is Vincent Trochek from the Florida Panthers. Bob's thoughts: "Vincent has always been a solid all around player in this league. This year he jumped into the elite category with a 20 point scoring increase compared to last year. He for sure benefited from an uptick in offensive opportunities due to last years expansion draft. I expect Vinny to continue to be a very strong #1C in the ADHL for at least the near future. Well done kid."
