Time to award the "prizes" for skater efficiency this season. Gord Strate award: given to the team which had lots of skater GP with not many stats to show for it. The winner for a second straight year is the Carolina Hurricanes. Samuel Henley award: given to the team which had the most stats relative to their GP. The winner this year is the Dallas Stars. The most "average" team this year was the Vegas Golden Knights. (Gord Strate played 62 games for the Red Wings from 1956-59 and never recorded a single point, the record for longest career with no points. Samuel Henley's NHL career consisted of 5:06 of icetime in a single game for the Avalanche in 2016-17. He scored a goal, giving him a Pts/60 of 11.76, the highest since the stat was calculated starting in 2009-10.)

I hope to hand the dubious Strate title over to someone else next year and begin competing for something else. The skeleton is in place, so its time for some of these prospects to turn into bonafide NHLers or be packaged for those who are.

Well your goaltending is excellent (or at least was this year), so you've definitely got the foundation there.

Yep, they almost cost me a top pick, but my skaters were useless enough to keep me in the basement.

Time for the 2020/2021 awards!
Gord Strate Award: Columbus Blue Jackets
Samuel Henley Award: Florida Panthers
The most average team, right at the bottom, was the Detroit Red Wings.
2019/2020 winners where-are-they-now: Henley Award winner Dallas dropped to 24th this year. Ouch. Strate Award winner Carolina moved up to 27th. (that's efficiency ranking, as in the distance from a dot to the trend line, not in the stats rank that is shown on the graph axis)

Like my predecessor, I am looking to move up and become relevant next year, pieces in place with Zegras, Stutzle, Bean, Drysdale, and above average Goaltending.

TAKE IT BACK! I DONT WANT IT ANYMORE! If we just play less games next year we'll go up the list... that's how it works right?
